Quantum mechanics predicts that photons, particles of light, are both particles and waves simultaneously. It has led to a number of surprising results in the application of thermodynamic concepts to small systems, with many contributions by workers in statistical mechanics. Of course, such surveys are mostly just for fun — the views of a particular group of experts at one conference don't necessarily reflect the entire quantum physics community. I don't know about 'quantum healing' or 'quantum golf', but I started to think about a possible connection between quantum theory and how people use concepts in 1998 when I was talking to a graduate student in physics at an interdisciplinary research center in Belgium. A "particle" or a "wave" are the conceptual framework in which we conform reality, in order to observe it. Greatest example of this development that whole world is witnessing is The Large Hadron Collider near Geneva which is dedicated to research and development in field of Quantum Mechanics. These two Letters are important early contributions to the development of quantum cryptography, the use of the properties of quantum mechanics to provide secure keys for encrypting communications. The student, Franky, was A whole new kind of mathematics had to be developed to deal with this kind of merging together or entanglement, as it is called. Yet physicists still argue about it, some contending that the onetime consensus interpretation (named for Copenhagen, where the Danish physicist Niels Bohr developed it), should be abandoned. For further discussion of these results and of additional .
